What a phenomenal nature gem! We booked a family vacation at Herring Run, and it exceeded expectations. The rooms were spotless, the sheets were crisp and smelled so clean. Hidden behind the motel is an amazing lake, where we kayaked and explored nature. We even saw a giant turtle! beautiful beaches were minutes away, and the grounds were well lit and cozy for a night out by the fire, or a day grilling. I love that we have affordable places like Herring so close to home, but can feel like a true escape. I would give it more stars if I could, highly recommend it !
I stayed here two years ago on my birthday trip to fish at the cape cod canal. Fishing on the canal wasn't great. But the herring run motel for the price was super accommodating, friendly, and fun. The pond out back is good for fishing. It has a nice homey feel. Definitely looks like a fixer upper from the outside. But the owners seem to take pride in running their business and work extra hard to make sure your having a good trip! The cottages out back weren't finished at the time so we stayed in the motel portion. The cottages however where being worked on and looked very nice from the outside!
